David Weck

David Weck is a visionary in the fitness world. He is the inventor of the BOSU® Balance Trainer, BOSU® Ballast® Ball and other innovative products and training programs, including Rolling Ropes™.

David is a lifelong sports and fitness enthusiast who has been working professionally in fitness for more than 19 years, working with a wide array of clients, including professional and Olympic athletes, sports teams, special populations and kids.

For the past 8 years, David has devoted himself to the exploration and discovery of best practices for enhancing balance as the foundation for all human performance. David has been using the unique training knowledge he has been acquiring to help serious and elite level sprinters, athletes and fighters to perform better. Recently David’s work with Sprinter Tyson Gay was featured in Men’s Health magazine:

David is a graduate of Williams College, where he graduated with academic honors with a degree in Political Economy. He ran track and played football at Williams, where his record for longest interception for a touchdown (85 yards) still stands. He has had a lifelong passion for athletics and once fell asleep standing up as a young child. David has studied and explored various disciplines, including Feldenkrais, Rolfing, Alexander Technique, various massage and bodywork techniques, Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture, Qi Gong, Chinese Internal Martial Arts with emphasis in Taijiquan, and Western Boxing. The success of the BOSU® Balance Trainer has given David Weck the unique opportunity to devote a “Gladwellian” (see Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers) effort to the study of balance training. David is constantly feeding his thirst for knowledge and is fond of saying “The Truth is Truer than the Facts…have Faith in Truth.”

Most recently David has received the 10 Session Rolfing sequence of sessions from Ed Maupin – one of Ida Rolf’s first principle students and master Educator/Rolfer. This experience has led to profound insights that continue to inform David’s work and he will never stop learning…

The thousands of hours exploring and discovering the best in balance training (fulfilling the mandate to truly understand “balance training” as the inventor of BOSU® – after all, who should know more about balance training than the inventor of BOSU®?) has led to David’s discovery of The New FIST™. The New FIST™ is the basis for “Fascially Integrated Strength Training,” which creates a better foundation for Physical Education.

David is just beginning the launch of his new training methods. His long-term mission is to fundamentally enhance Physical Education in an effort to stem impending societal issues for a better tomorrow. Health Care should begin with Movement Education.

“Forming The New FIST™ Informs The Body!”

    Weck,

Seems like all is well with you. I have actually watched some of those workout videos you have posted lately. Still cannot make the A-Fist properly — residual effect of to many broken bones.

Would love to touch base sometime soon.

    Regards,

    Ian

DW, how about a spiraling video to help us run faster? Been doing what I believe is correct technique and it seems to be helpful but would love confirmation from The Master!

    Hi Mr. Weck-

Im a Kinesiology student at the University of Illinois at Chicago and were doing a group business project. We developed a fitness implement idea and were trying to figure out ways to get our brand name out there and our sales approach. If you can give any tips, ideas, or any past experience that you had with launching BOSU Fitness that would be greatly appreciated. This isn’t a real business plan but is treated as such so were trying to make it as real as possible.

    Thanks

      James,
Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we are all sold out of the Quick Hands Bola Trainer and it is now a discontinued item.

    Hi Mr. Weck,
I recently read the article about you in Menshealth. I found the idea of the primal training as opposed to regular cardio/weightlifting training extremely intriguing. Where could i find more excersises and techniques on barefoot, balancing, and primitive type workouts?

    Thanks,
    Anthony

      Chris,
We appreciate your inquiry. Unfortunately, it’s not a product that has enough demand to continue production. Check out our Intro to Rolling Ropes™ DVD and Rolling Ropes™ Products for your training. Thanks and good luck.
      David
